Laughs Unlimited and BTB Productions, LLC is proud to present, Comedian Cowboy Bill Martin and his “Surf and Turf - World Comedy Tour” to June 23-26.
The Texas native comedian kicked off the “Surf” portion of his tour this year in the country of Belize and made several stops in the Caribbean including Jamaica, the Bahamas, Mexico and the Cayman Islands with an exclusive deal with Carnival Cruise Lines.
Now the tour is continuing with the “Turf “portion which will include stops in Vegas, Pasadena, Sacramento, Reno, Tucson, Arlington, TX, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Wichita, Omaha, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Birmingham, Richmond, Raleigh, Charlotte, Columbia, Little Rock, Cincinnati, Toledo, Cleveland, Atlanta, Hartford, Kansas City and San Antonio with new dates being added.
With thousands in his own fan club, Martin has shared the stage over the years with the some of the most elite performers including George Strait, George Jones on an 18 city tour of Canada and was part of the CMT Most Wanted Live Tour with Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts and Chris Cagle. Plus, he has worked with all four of the Blue Collar guys.
Martin said, “I had a golden opportunity early in my career to work with some of the most successful people in the entertainment business. I’ve learned from the best which helped me prepare for this moment.”
It seems to be working. Martin has been setting record in-concert attendance marks at several venues and is one of the hottest comics on the circuit today.
But don’t let the name fool you. Critic Punch Shaw of The Fort Worth Star Telegram says, "Martin is not your typical country-cowboy comic. There’s no talk about trailer parks or inbreeding. Sure he wears cowboy garb on stage and he speaks with a Texas accent but his comedy touches people of all cultures.”
Martin said, “Some guys are set-up, punch comics. Some are storytellers. I’m really a hybrid of both styles. While I do tell stories, they are, by design, told in a way to keep the laughs going non-stop. I would like to think that anyone (and I do mean anyone) would be able to come to my show and relate. I’ve been through it all and I write and perform material that is universally funny and very personal.”
Martin has also been busy adding “screenwriter” to his resume. This last year he had an opportunity present itself to further his writing career and work under one of the Executive Producers of the Simpsons. Martin said, “Talk about a crash course in television writing. To have someone take me under their wing and show me the ropes, was just unbelievable.” That help has lifted him to be in negotiations to sell his first screenplay, “The Perfect Divorce”.
Martin’s star is truly on the rise. He returned last winter from headlining his first tour of the Middle East for our Armed Forces serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is also created the “Cowboy Cares Program” with his clothing provider, Ariat Western Wear to promote his “Pink Out Cowboy” Shirt Program for Cancer Awareness.
